Star Wars: The Phantom Menace Review (Part 1 of 7)

http://www.redlettermedia.com – Finally it’s here! The truly epic review/critique/analysis/film making educational video of the 1999 film “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace” There was so much to discuss with this film it had to be long so please don’t complain. If you think it’s too long then don’t watch it. In this opening segment I discuss the major flaw of The Phantom Menace which is the characters and the lack of connection with the audience.

  1. “emotional” doesn’t equate “intelligent” jimmy (i was insulting you). 4-6 had mistakes but they’re ok. [because you grew up with them right]
i’m educating you on where your “argument” fell to shit. and not “digging deeper” is a half-job so i guess the reviews are half assed anyway
it’s petty. but you’re petty so..and if you’re guillable enough to believe his murder scenes, you’re guillable enough to believe everything else. you (&Plink): go on disliking to dislike, futiley defending your claim

  2. I never said it did. I already told you that making things up will not help you. The originals didn’t have mistakes, so try harder Sally. That bullshit nostalgia argument won’t work with the prequels cause they are shitty movies, not just different.
You’re defending a retard that’s defending the prequels. You’re in already in a world of shit.
You’re defending the prequels. One of us is living in a dream world. I’ll give you a hint, it’s not me. The truth hurts chuckles, so get yourself a tissue.

  3. Plinkett reviews are by far the greatest ones on the internet today. Love each and every one of them.

I also recommend these, not really reviews but they’re quite funny.

  4. The ONLY way I had ANY idea what was going in this newly minted bowl movement, when I first saw this as a 24yr old, was that I knew about the entire story with a fair amount of detail AND bent over backwards for George’s artistic license. Really. Were it not for that, I would be as confused as Rick Berman looks when he’s drinking his coffee. This is expensive, overindulgent and entirely unnecessary schlock. schlock. schlock. schlock. schlock.schlock.schlock.schlock.schlock.schlock.schlock.

  5. Padme is a cliche, terrible character. Love the prequels eh? Your opinion, I understand, but I’m fairly sure you’re only doing this because you like the prequels and you just can’t stand to hear someone rip them apart. Is that right? 😀

  6. i use your tactic & you call it intelligent side.. 1+1 does equal 2
4-6 did. but you didn’t “dig deep” then either huh? i’d think you’d notice the obvious though
nostalgia sums up 1-3 haters butthurt because the characters and setting aren’t what they remember
your argument fell to shit. my comments don’t change that dim jim
i defend 1-3. and you believe Plink’s murder scenes are real. who’s more delusional? i’ll give you a hint. wait. you probably won’t look past the surface of my hint so…

  7. Padme is amazing. I love Star Wars, yeah.
no actually. i’ve disagreed but what you’re viewing is my eliminating a petty argument :3
if you read the chains and I know it is hella long but you’ll see that I don’t necessarily have a problem with all of what Plink says. I do with some of it (dumb stuff) but definitely do with the retarded commenter arguments XD
but honestly I don’t think Plink rips them to shreds. maybe tries to yeah but…

  8. You just may not like his sense of humor. Padme is not a good female character I’ve seen WAY better female characters than her and honestly the originals are the BETTER movies at least in my tastes. Your tastes I can’t control or dictate but at leat understand where the ORIGINAL fans are coming from.

  9. I don’t. or how he tries to use insults as arguments. it’s stupid
padme’s a good fem. character. name your ideas of better
well, I love all Star Wars (so far) including 4-6. but I don’t hate 1-3 or the quirks. take a Plink example: why didn’t they try poison? sure, Qui and Obi’d survive but the TF should’ve tried. splitting up was dumb too. but I don’t hate 1-3 because of it. I don’t hate 4-6 for its quirks.
SOME 4-6 only fans have good claims. wanker warner is not a good representation

  10. I do agree with you that all bases of fans (1-6, 1-3, 4-6) do have 7 hate but people disliking 1-3 aren’t “fake fans” or anything. just like those liking 1-3 aren’t “fake fans.” -_-

  11. You ‘observe’? Then you’re deluded and crazy like the rest of prequel supporters. Look at the response across you ‘net (and Belated Media is just one example) of how many people want Ep. 7 to be great. You’re juvenile, crazy and full of fantasy.

    Lunatic.

  12. I’m glad to see you’ve finally figured out what 1+1 means. Now you need to apply that to the number of blue squares on Watto’s die.
No reason to dig deeper when the movie is already golden, you’re only going to find more gold. Just like there’s no reason to dig deeper into shit.
No, they’re terrible, not just different, that’s the problem.
The argument was about the prequels, it was already shit.
I never said they were real. Remember what I told you about lying? It will not help you.
